CELEBRATING COMMUNITY DINNER

ABORIGINAL DEEP LISTENING TO COUNTRY

MONDAY 30 October 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Join us for an evening celebrating community, First Nations peoples, Creation and Country.

Brooke Prentis, Aboriginal Christian Leader and Wakka Wakka woman will speak on the theme of Deep History with a focus on First Nations peoples including, connection to Country, deep listening, truth telling and understanding our shared history. Brooke will be joined with conversation partner Ruth Harvey, Iona Community Leader from Scotland, who will bring a response to Brooke and share about the Wellspring and Iona Pilgrimage.

Brooke and Ruth have been part of the month long, Wellspring and Iona Caring for Creation Listening Pilgrimage, across these lands now called Australia. The pilgrimage has provided listening spaces and places for conversations with First Nations leaders about the spiritual roots of caring for creation with the hope to nurture peace and healing of communities and creation. This event is a partnership between The Gap Uniting Church, the Wellspring Community, and the Iona Community; some proceeds will go to funding Aboriginal ministry.

Light refreshments (buffet style) will be provided - please register.. Coffee Shop open for purchase of drinks & desserts.
